Find Randall County Civil Dockets

Start a Randall County civil docket search with the right court, then go to the clerk who keeps that court's records. Civil matters here are spread across district courts, two county courts at law, probate, and justice of the peace precincts, and each follows its own record path. The docket itself traces filings, motions, hearings, orders, and current case status in a noncriminal dispute. It builds a useful timeline. It will not show everything, though. A protected attachment, a fresh filing still awaiting review, or the full text of an order can stay out of view.

Searching Randall County Civil Dockets

District civil and family matters start at the official Randall County Tyler portal. Enter an exact party name or cause number. Check the court identifier before opening any result. Randall County runs three named district courts. A bare "district court" label may pull too many hits at once. Do not count on wildcard rules, date filters, or document buttons. Wait until you see them on the page itself.

If the case does not appear, take the request to the Randall County District Clerk. Counter, phone, mail, and office-research routes are open. The statewide re:SearchTX portal offers another way to search cases, filings, text, and hearings. County-court-at-law, probate, and some county matters vary. They may sit with the County Clerk or a specific court coordinator. JP civil files stay in the precinct that heard them.

  1. Identify the civil category and court from the papers.
  2. Search by exact party name or cause number.
  3. Match the court, filing date, style, and category.
  4. Read the event list without treating it as the whole file.
  5. Ask the proper clerk for a plain or certified copy.

Randall Split-Clerk Civil Path

Randall County splits its civil records between two clerks. The District Clerk carries district civil and family categories in the state verification system. The County Clerk posts civil, probate, guardianship, mental-health, and related forms along with fee routes. County Courts at Law No. 1 and No. 2 each handle civil, family, and juvenile work, yet which counter holds a given record can vary, so name the exact court and document when you ask. The offices sit close together at 2309 Russell Long Boulevard in Canyon, with the District Clerk in Suite 110 and the County Clerk in Suite 101. CCL1 is in Suite 132. CCL2 is in Suite 130. The shared address does not make them interchangeable. A clear cause number, case style, date range, and requested item keeps a docket search from landing at the wrong desk.

Inside a Randall Civil Docket

A Randall County civil docket is procedural, not narrative. It can show the case style, court, category, filing date, parties, counsel, document titles, hearings, orders, and status. Field names on the Tyler result can differ, so read the labels you see. Verify anything crucial against the filed document itself.

Cause numberThe unique clerk number used to match requests and payments.
Case styleThe public caption naming the sides to the dispute.
Filing eventA petition, answer, motion, notice, order, or other accepted item.
SettingA scheduled conference, hearing, trial, or docket call.
StatusAn index label that should be read with the latest signed order.

A filing date is not proof of service. A setting is only a hearing date, and a dismissal's terms live in the signed order, not in the docket line.

Randall JP Civil Categories

Randall County justice courts handle four civil paths. The paths are small claims, debt claims, eviction, and repair and remedy. A plaintiff opens the case with a petition and a civil case information sheet. Forms are online and at the office. Rules 500 through 510 of the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure govern these cases. Check with the court on fit and current procedure.

Case typeTypical docket focus
Small claimsPetition, service, answer, setting, judgment
Debt claimsDebt petition, service, response, disposition
EvictionPossession claim, service, prompt setting, judgment
Repair and remedyTenant remedy filing, notice, hearing, order

The current JP directory lists Precincts 1, 4, and 4A only. Do not invent JP2 or JP3, and never assume one countywide portal merges every JP file.

Civil Case Types on Randall Dockets

Randall County district civil dockets span contract, property, tort, and similar disputes. Family matters add divorce and suits affecting the parent-child relationship. Privacy limits run tighter there. County-level courts take civil and probate work. The justice courts hold the four local categories above. The right forum comes from the filed papers and jurisdiction, not merely the word "civil."

  • District civil lawsuits and district family cases
  • County-court-at-law civil and family matters
  • Probate, guardianship, and related County Clerk files
  • Justice-court small claims and debt claims
  • Justice-court eviction and repair-and-remedy cases

Randall JP4A Civil Access

The official JP4A court page shows the local court route and contact context.

Before mailing a JP civil request, confirm the office. The details here are not a substitute for a current case entry or a clerk's response. The official Randall JP4A civil information page lays out the four civil categories and local fee notes. Check it before you send anything.

The civil page anchors the local process. For a particular docket or a current fee amount, the precinct clerk still has the answer.

Randall Civil Docket Hearings

A civil setting might be a scheduling conference, a temporary-orders hearing, a motion hearing, a trial, or another event. Read the type alongside the court, date, time, and location. CCL1 and CCL2 sit in separate suites. Each has its own coordinator. District settings belong to one of Randall County's three district courts. A reset may follow an older notice. A listed date is not proof the event happened. A continuance moves the date with court approval, and a cancellation drops the setting without ending the case, so confirm the newest entry or signed order with the coordinator or clerk.

Randall Family Order Boundaries

Randall County's family-law standing order applies to covered cases filed on or after April 8, 2020. It was updated January 21, 2025. It spans Armstrong, Potter, and Randall Counties. It sets local procedure for district and county-court-at-law family matters. Among its topics are a 14-day temporary-restraint period, parent education, and temporary-order materials. The signed order controls the exact duties. A separate October 2025 order covers certified birth certificates or alternate proof filed in certain Family Code cases. Those items are sealed. The public Randall County civil docket may still show an event. The sensitive attachment stays unavailable.

Randall Civil Fees and Copies

Copy costs in Randall County civil matters are modest, but they add up. The District Clerk charges a $5 office research fee. That covers the search itself, not copies or certification. On the JP civil side, posted amounts carry effective dates. Expect a $54 filing fee effective January 1, 2022. Add $100 service per defendant if that person is served in Randall or Potter County. Copies run $1 for the first page. Each added page costs 25 cents when the court produces them. Confirm every amount before you pay.

Tell the clerk exactly what you want. A docket sheet, petition, motion, order, judgment, transcript, or certified copy all cost different things. Give the cause number, case style, court, document date, and how you want delivery. When a portal lacks the document, mail, phone, counter requests, and clerk research still work.

Randall Civil Docket Access Rules

Texas leans toward openness in court records. Still, sealed or protected material can be withheld. Texas Rule of Civil Procedure 76a governs when court records get sealed. Family cases, juvenile matters, and protected personal data face extra limits. The Texas Public Information Act covers government information generally. Judicial records may fall under Texas Rule of Judicial Administration 12 and the case-file rules instead.

Public does not mean complete: Texas Rule of Civil Procedure 76a supplies a civil sealing framework. The Randall County clerk applies the controlling order to a specific file.

A missing attachment proves nothing. It may be restricted, not yet accepted, or held somewhere else. The clerk can tell you which. Before trusting any result from a Randall County civil docket search, check the cause number, the exact court, the style, and the filing date. If a status term decides something important, request the signed order itself. Corrections and certifications come from the originating clerk alone.
